The House in Surrey

The house was a relatively new development which had been pre-wired for ceiling speakers and wall mounted touch panels. The new owner wanted music distributed throughout the property. To add to the design specification a retrofitted RAKO lighting solution was installed, controlled by both RAKO and Living Control keypads.

The Design

The RAKO solution was designed, installed and programmed to integrate with Living Control keypads. Part of the design included enabling control of the whole lighting system by interfacing with a GSM modem. This allowed the owner to turn the lights on/off using SMS Text messages whilst away from the house. A perfect security measure.

The Living Control RoomBox distributed the MP3, Tuner, CD/DVD and Satellite outputs throughout the property.

The Security

In addition to remotely controlling the lights via mobile phone, panic buttons were programmed on selected keypads to enable the whole house to light if there were any intruder concerns. The RAKO lighting system was also integrated with the alarm system that would flash all lights upon alarm activation, causing disorientation to any intruders.

Dedicated Home Cinema room with LINN Knekt multi-room feeding several rooms around the property all controlled via a Phillips iPronto for the main cinema room and Pronto NG for all other rooms.

A Lutron Grafik Eye system had been implemented within the cinema room, iPronto programmed for mood lighting control when selecting video and music options.

Boat in Lynmouth

The remit was to upgrade the equipment to work within the UK, install 2 auto-tracking satellite dishes (for SKY & Broadband access), install Sony PS2 playstations in all cabins and upgrade the video and audio distribution systems to UK standards.
 

Many problems existed with this project due to the BeoSystem 1 Type 8480 only designed for the North American and Taiwanese markets.

The BeoSystem 1 facilitated full Beo4 control of a Dolby Digital Home Theatre utilising a Beovision 4 plasma screen and other associated B&O source equipment.
 

Private house in Surrey

A fully designed £150,000 Crestron Home Automation solution consisting of 12 Crestron touch panels strategically placed around the £5 million private estated property. The Crestron video and audio multi-room distribution system facilitated all rooms, including large indoor swimming pools and bar areas.

Other equipment included several Pioneer PDP-43XDE Plasmas, B&W Ceiling speakers, ARCAM DVD 71's, ARCAM AVR300 and several ARTcoustic DF100-75 wall mounted speakers.

Private House in South Bucks

AMX Controlled audio and video distribution system which included Netlinx NI-3000, B&W Speakers, Rotel Amplifiers, MVP8400 touch panel, TP4 touch panel, Pure DAB Tuner, Philips DVD, Plasma and LCD. The customers iPod was also integrated into the whole house system.
